Looks and feels great, but very sensitive to scratching

A perfect mix between leather and rubber: it looks like a classy strap but you can wear it while doing active watersports. I've worn plenty of leather straps over the years, but this one scratched very easily somehow (maybe the waterproof coating?) and already looks beaten after a few days. A shame but I still enjoy wearing it since it is very comfortable. Guess I have to even the 'wear' out a bit for a more overall distressed look.
