Good tote, if not a bit overbuilt

Thoughtful organization choices; for instance the outer stretch umbrella/water bottle pocket is on the opposite end of the internal water bottle pocket to balance things. Still, the outer pocket is a bit tight so either a small pocket umbrella or a small (think 16 oz) bottle is all you will fit. The materials used are seriously robust and should last a long time. The fidlock-esque carry strap is a nice touch, and the stitched padding on it keeps it from sliding around. It's position works well for me, but may not for others. When the main compartment is somewhat packed, it can stand on its own; a structured bottom would've been nicer, but I'm ok without it. The aqua guard zipper on the front pocket is nice, though aesthetically not for me.

That said, I'm not sure why they decided against using aqua guard zippers on the main compartment if they did for the front one. I tend to leave the main area unzipped anyways except when it's raining...which is exactly when I'd want aqua guards. I'm not the biggest fan of the rigid plastic sheet used to give the laptop compartment structure since you can't fold the bag if you need to stuff it into something; a more flexible foam sheet would've been nicer here. Finally, the bag is heavy; it'll last for sure, but man if you want to keep your shoulders happy, you shouldn't really fill this bag up.

Overall, it's best if you don't have to carry it long distances. Driving or riding public transit with a short walk to work or home? Perfect. Riding a bike? Hope you have a basket to put it in. Going for a leisurely walk with it? Pass.

Good but heavy

Very good and beautiful. The only problem is that it is heavy...
