M23 Waxed Canvas 21 L Backpack

Soldiers in the US military have been issued bags since before the civil war. Early on, there were Knapsacks. Rugged, single cavity bags made for long movements. The need for more pockets and organization for quick access to smaller essentials like food, water, and weaponry brought us the M1945 during WWII. It was named after the year it was manufactured and issued. These are the bags that inspired us to develop the M23 rucksack, also named after the year it was manufactured and “issued”.

Goruck took what they loved about this pack: the top load, exterior pockets, and front buckles and carried it over to a modern rucksack. They upgraded the M1945, to the Goruck standard of extra padded shoulder straps and top handle, the highest quality YKK zippers, streamlined closure system, a bombproof laptop compartment, and now more pockets for even more organization.

It’s low profile for everyday carry, and has now been met with time-proven materials and construction. This M23 is made with the strongest possible duck canvas with a waxing process that has been proven for the last hundreds of years. It’s not only durable, but it looks good too.
