The Side Click pen is designed, manufactured and tested entirely in-house, down to the machined screw that hold the clip. The all-metal click mechanism feels and sounds reassuring and firm. This is the latest version with a new deeper carry one-screw clip.

The pen is made from titanium, which is one of the most popular materials in Tactile Turn pens. It's not quite as light weight as aluminum, but much lighter than stainless steel, brass, and copper. Titanium is tough, lightweight, and extremely corrosion resistant.

Tactile Turn pens are known for their CNC precision machined texture - it's where the name comes from. The sutble grooves create tactile feeling which allows you to control the pen exactly the way you want. It won’t bite into your skin but provides just the right amount of grip. The textured surface also disguises and protects the pens from light scratches much better than a smooth surface.

Aikamoinen pettymys

Kynä oli aika iso pettymys. Tähän hintaan odottaisi saavansa enemmän tai vähemmän täydellisen kynän, mutta kokemus on kyllä kaukana siitä.

Mekanismi on yllättävän takkuinen ja pitää rohisevaa metalli vasten metallia -hankausääntä. Mekanismi saattaa myös jäädä jumiin sopivasti painaessa (vaatii kyllä yrittämistä). Viiden euron markettikynän painikkeetkin tuntuvat jouhevammilta. Mekanismi sinänsä toimii, mutta odotukset näin kalliin kynän kohdalla olivat jotain ihan muuta kuin nyt sain.

Vapautuspainiketta käyttäessa sormiin tulee kynän sisältä jotain rasvaa tai öljyä, mikä ei sekään laatuvaikutelmaa paranna.

Kynän runko vaikuttaa sinänsä erittäin laadukkaalta, kärjen ja rungon sauma on täysin huomaamaton.

Schönes Schreibgerät

Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit diesem Schreibgerät. Der Side-Click Mechanismus ist allerdings anfangs etwas schwergängig, da hier Metall auf Metall reibt und es zwangsläufig zu etwas mehr Reibung kommt. Nachdem ich den ganzen Mechanismus etwas mit Silikonfett nachgeschmiert hatte, lief das Ganze schon besser. Was die Vielfalt der einsatzbaren Minen angeht, steht einem hier ein schöne Bandbreite an Auswahl zur Verfügung.
