The Japanese term kaizen is made up of the syllables kai (change) and zen (for the better) and describes the continual striving for improvement. Perfection becomes a temporary phenomenon and is merely an intermediate goal in the constant process of change.

The Böker Plus Kaizen captures the spirit of the times by the minimalist flipper tab, which merges with the slender form while remaining highly functionals. The ball-bearing D2 blade works its way through everyday cutting tasks with stoic calm and always finds its way back to rest with the help of the reliable linerlock. The textured handle lies comfortably in the hand and is supplied with a practical deep-carry clip (tip-up/r) and a high-quality nylon pouch for storage.

A very nice gentleman's folder

The Kaizen when folded and clipped into a shirt pocket can easily pass for a pen. And if you wish to show it off the design and material choices are quite visually interesting and attractive.
I find it enjoyable to fidget with as the blade can be deployed with forefinger in the standard flipper open or with thumb using the "lighter flick". Either way the blade will open smoothly and lock securely. And the small size makes one-handed closing easy.
The one thing which keeps me from giving the Kaizen a 5 star review is the standard straight back blade shape with the spine flush to the handle edge when closed. A couple of times my fingers have pressed onto the handles and been lightly pricked by the blade tip because the gap at the closed tip can let fingers squeeze in. It's a very nice design to have the spine flush with the handles but a drop point or clip point blade style could have been the safer choice. Not a deal breaker but I'm quite mindful that the tip can bite when closed.
Regardless, the Kaizen is a really nice knife and I appreciate and enjoy having it.

I noticed a small abrasion( scratch) on the blade. Otherwise all is well including smooth openning and closing.
