A packable frame backpack

The Beast28 is an ultralight frame pack engineered for technical outdoor pursuits. A flexible frame suspension system provides support while packing down small for travel. This fully-featured alpine pack is built from Robic® fabric and reinforced with a UTS coating for weatherproofing and durability.

The pack is equipped with everything you need to take on your pursuit, including hydration compatibility, gear loops for alpine tools and hiking poles, and daisy chains for additional external storage. Ultralight at just 680 g, the Beast28 is prepared to help you fight gravity without excess weight. Built from industry-leading Robic® nylon and best-in-class YKK® hardware, the Beast28 is designed for long-lasting durability you can depend on.

Flexible frame suspension

The Beast28 features an innovative spring steel frame, which allows for both structure and packability. When not in use, simply twist and fold the frame, and secure into the compression sack. The spring steel frame bounces back into its original shape when released.

Organization on the trail

The main compartment features an asymmetrical clamshell zipper, making it easy to access the larger items at the bottom of your pack. A front compartment extends to the bottom of the pack, while a zippered pocket inside protects your smaller items.

Hydration compatible

An internal hydration sleeve accommodates most 1-3 liter reservoirs, with hose routing features on both shoulder straps for a customized fit.

Stow for transit

Easily twist, fold, and store the pack in the included compression sack for travel. Ultralight at just 680 g, the Beast28 makes it easy to take a fully capable alpine pack with you wherever you go.

Excellent lightweight yet sturdy packable daypack

Awesome backpack. It can be used as a regular daypack for all your hiking needs. I especially like the fact that it offers good shoulder support for such a lightweight pack. The walking pole straps are also a very welcome sight. But the absolute killer feature is the fact that the pack can be folded and compressed to a small form factor. This makes it an extremely handy backpack to take with you during day trips when you want to leave your bigger pack at your holiday home. The waterproofing is okay, but not excellent. I would suggest buying a raincover if you need extra protection. Yet the pack itself is unique in its segment despite this minor fault. I highly recommend it if you want a packable daypack.

Good but not great

Pros:
- Pleasant to carry
- good organization and thoughtful layout
- lightweight
- removable hipbelt

Cons:
- not waterproof at all

I took it on day hikes in the alps with light rain/snow and after 2 hours it ended with a small puddle at the bottom of the main pocket. Don't keep your down jacket in there! Good thing I was using dry bags for my stuff.

So this is not quite an alpine backpack for me. Good for day hikes and everyday carry (as long as you don't need to carry a laptop as it won't fit in the inner sleeve). I wish it was waterproof, had an extra strap to carry skis or other equipment, and that the hydration pocket would also work to fit a 15" laptop with sleeve.

Not perfect, still a pleasant backpack overall.
